Hey audiences!
I decided to make use of my time, since I get bored most of the time. And one thing that comes across my mind is...why not make a blog? So..let's get started.Actually...
This blog is for Malaysians because I kinda want to mix it up bak kata orang melayu, bahasa rojak campur kan. But most will be in english, I guess. I'm not certain. The main idea.
The purpose of this blog is to share to the world (by means, Malaysians) what Medical Laboratory Technology is. This career/course seems a bit vague to our society. Selalu kalau orang tanya saya 'Ambil course apa?' and when I told them I took MLT(Medical Lab Tech) they were like '....oh. Course apa tu? 'Nampak tak. Hahaha sedihnya.
Kalau dekat UiTM ni kan, for my batch, satu batch, ada 62 orang. Sahaja. Bayangkan! Lagipun, ramai yang prefer asasi/matriks.
Introduction.
Medical Laboratory Technology is all about science and laboratories. Like the name, itself. If you want to venture in this career, you'll have to like your laboratory sessions in your high school. Especially biology and chemistry labs. Also, you'll have to be bold. I'll give you a sneak peak, this course requires you to handle stool, urine, and sputum specimens. We also handle blood specimens. So buckle up!
What do we do to those specimens? We test it of course. Depends on the requirements for the specimen.
So, yes. We perform tests on specimens to observe abnormalities.
It's quite interesting, for me, because you'll see things you have never imagined before.
We have many different labs, such as, Hematology, Parasitology, Cytology, Histology, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology and more.
Menarik tak? Menarik kan. Haha
Dengan course ni, korang boleh belajar semua lab ni. So takde lah spesifik sangat. :D
That's it for introductory purposes. I'll publish more about the practicals I'm going through another time.
Q & A as below ya~
